Analysis of sound in film opening

The opening to  Final destination 3 opening sequence opens with evil, morbid music as it presents 'New line cinema'. This already before seeing anyone allows the audience to think that the film is going to be a horror because of the first 10 seconds alone, without even seeing any scenes from the film. There is no dialogue apart from this climaxing music, which would make the audience want to know what this film is about since it is starting so curiously.

As this music plays over the scenes it is non-diegetic, and makes you jump to the conclusion that the horror will be taking place in a circus/funfair sort of environment, which is usually a place known for joy and happiness. The name of the film is then presented which already hints at a ominous atmosphere for the film, and disappears whilst the music now heightens to add drama. This gives a more of a climax as now there's sounds of quick zapping/swooshing sounds which suggests how the film can be calm one moment yet fast pace the next, this goes well with the fast moving objects shown. The fact that the music heightens then relaxes makes it more anticipating for the opening credits to end and the film to begin as you want to see what the excitement is all about and the plot.
