Title Sequence, Inspiration And Influences

 The Human Centipede Gif

The idea for the opening title sequence is to introduce the main character as an eccentric, deranged; psychotic serial killer. This helps establish the genre of the piece and the general concept of the plot. The aim is to use dark colours such as black, grey and red to convey the theme of the piece. Film influences for the creation of the opening title sequence include Hush, Seven and The Human Centipede. This is because all three films have a strong focus on the antagonists story which we look to replicate. We are looking to use low-angle and high-angle camera shots to create the contrasting authority between the antagonist and victims. Sound will be used constantly throughout to build tension and the use of sudden, high pitch noises will help emphasise the sinisterness feel we are aiming to depict. We have also researched into notorious real life cases such as The Moors Murders and serial killers Rosemary and Fred West for inspiration.
