I think my prelim film sequence went quite successful as my group worked hard on trying to set a bus location in a room, and we got quite creative.
The skills I developed was being able to put a camera on a tripod correctly, and create different types of shots such as close ups to show facial expression, or long shots to capture walking a distance. The recording went well as everybody in my group participated and worked together, and collaborated all our ideas in the planning. Planning didn't take too long as we was able to come to a understanding quickly after being given the setting and prop. After it was all shot the editing seemed difficult to do at first although we got the hang of it very quickly after being shown how to stick videos together. This helped me come to an understanding that making a film isn't very difficult on the software we use as its basic to use several functions such as adding music or cropping out scenes. Cutting out different scenes to create dialogue was simple therefore the conversation in the prelim went well.
However we didn't add any music therefore there was lots of sound in the background which in the future we should aim to cut out. Also some scenes cut out too quickly hence why some shots look very random when played, which is why next time we should aim to add in extra scenes to ease into it instead of it not making sense all together. Other than that, the prelim went successful as we were able to shoot someone coming through the door, and also maintained at a 180 degrees angle. We did this so the actors in the shot didn't cross one another, and added in match cuts alongside over the shoulder shots during conversation to get more personal.
Storyboarding worked well also because it gave us an idea of how we should set out the recording, and try include as many different shots suitable.
